London's best rooftops

Everyone loves a rooftop. And who’s to blame them, especially when the view is of London’s picture perfect skyline. And in recent years, the city has responded to this desire to be elevated at all costs, or basking in the rays of sunshine as soon as the first glimpse of summer is on the horizon, with an influx of great restaurants and bars high in the clouds, offering up a number of different angles of our glorious city.

WEST END:

Bourne & Hollingsworth Garden Room

Our newest opening - B&H Garden Room (in our humble opinion) has the best view in London. Perched on the 10th floor of the assembly hotel, floor to ceiling glass windows make up the room which is surrounded by a living breathing meadow, bringing the outside in and providing an elegant, yet slightly wild aesthetic.

27-31 Charing Cross Road, WC2H 9JE. Nearest station is Leicester Square.

SOUTH:

PRINCE OF WALES

Is it a pub is it a club - who knows, but this two-tiered rooftop garden in Brixton is perfect for a bit of light-hearted summer fun. They often have special DJ nights, including a rum & reggae rooftop bash, fleetwood mac party with music from Norman Jay and Giles Peterson. Super fun.

467- 469 Brixton Road, SW9 8HH. Nearest station is Brixton.

EAST:

Boundary

This is this writer’s favourite summer date spot. Super pretty, on the cusp of overly-designed-swanky but not crossing it, it works for balmy summer evenings and cosy winter nights as the heated Orangery is open all year round. The food is Mediterranean and grill lead - think grilled lobster, garlic butter, seasonal salads - all washed down with a bottle of crisp rose and imagine you’re in the south of France.

2 - 4 Redchurch Street, E2 7DD. Nearest station is Shoreditch High Street.

EAST:
NETIL 360

Other than the sheer amount of bearded and hatted hipsters that congregate here every summer night, this is our favourite party rooftop. Laidback and super chilled, there’s a ton of craft beers on offer and they often do summer screenings. We recommend dropping by on a Saturday afternoon, post Broadway Market browse for a spritz and dance.

1 Westgate Street, E8 3RL. Nearest station is London Fields.

EAST:
QUEEN OF HOXTON

We LOVE the Queen of Hoxton’s themed rooftop that changes with the seasons and have been known to trapse here for after work drinks, rain or shine. This year the rooftop theme is LAS MEXICANAS - we’re hoping for tacos, margaritas and mexican wrestlers. They also have cinema screenings and a ton of events on.

1-5 Curtain Road, London EC2A 3JX.

Nearest station is Shoreditch High Street.

WEST:
PERGOLA ON THE ROOF

Kings of the rooftop - Pergola are our favourite elevated pop-up bars and restaurants. They have two permanent sites, Olympia and Paddington and usually do a cool new summer limited edition pop-up as well. Book a daybed and soak up the sun with a class of frose in hand and a plethora of street food options,

Pergola is the ideal no frills, fun rooftop for lazy summer days to nights.
